Font Doctor

System Requirements
  • Mac OS X 10.3 - 10.6
  • PowerPC or Intel processor
  • 128 Megabytes of RAM
  • 7 Megabytes of hard disk space
Installing FontDoctor
  1. Depending on how you received FontDoctor, extract the zip archive, insert the disc or mount the DMG file on your computer.
  2. Drag the FontDoctor application icon into your Applications folder.
  3. Double-click the FontDoctor icon from your Applications folder to launch.
  4. When prompted, enter your name, company name and serial number that was provided to you in email or on the product disc.
  5. Click OK.

What's new in FontDoctor 7.7

  • Compatible with Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard).
  • Updated font cache cleaning. Now cleans Adobe CS4, Microsoft Office 2008, and QuarkXPress 8 caches.
  • Supports True Type Collection (TTC) fonts.

Fixed issues

The following is a list of the fixed issues in this release. This list does not include all addressed issues, but contains the majority of changes.

Fixed in 7.7

ID Description
A Fixed an issue that caused Font Doctor to create strangely named folders when organizing fonts into foundry folders.
B Fixed an OS autorization issue related to cleaning font caches.
C When restoring fonts from a font archive, you can now restore the enclosing folder structure without error.
D Fixed some minor issues with creating a new font library.
E OpenType and dfont files are now supported during drag-n-drop onto the application icon or the main window.
F Font Doctor no longer rejects bad checksums, as they are accepted by both Mac and Windows OSes.
G Updated Font Doctor to support 64-bit processors, which also enables part of the Snow Leopard compatibility.
